Flood Relief

More than 30 million people have been affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. Staff, Fellows, and Alumni from the Teach For Pakistan community have been and are involved in relief efforts across various regions, some in their own hometowns. As our members’ relief and rehabilitation work evolve to meet the needs of the affected, we will be updating this page regularly for you to know where and how to contribute. Muhammad Aamad Khattak

Aamad is working with his brother Hamza to provide aid to flood affectees in Nowshera and Charsadda, KPK, and hopes to soon provide aid to some parts of South Punjab. So far, Aamad has provided rations to 11 families in Nowshera and with your contributions, hopes to provide to more families, along with aiding in rehabilitation efforts and reconstructing damaged properties. He is also looking to provide affectees with resources for them to have an independent source of income.

Komal Sindhu

Komal is working as a core team member and advisory Board member at Serve Humanity Together. The organization has worked in Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Mehar, Naushehro Feroze, and Sanghar in Sindh and has so far provided 500+ ration bags to affectees along with cooked food and necessary food items. They have provided 100+ shelters, bundles of clothes, and sanitary kits for women, and have organized free medical camps in the vicinities of Hyderabad and Jamshoro. Currently, they are engaging flood-affected children in various activities for mental and physical well-being. With your contributions, Komal will be able to provide funds for the maintenance of the health of affectees and for reconstructing house roofs of families.

Monitoring reports will be given in the form of receipts and social media posts.

Pallavi Shafia

Pallavi is volunteering with the Indus Resource Center under Ms. Farzana Buriro (District Manager Jamshoro) to provide aid in Jamshoro and Sehwan, Sindh. This aid will be directed to all internally displaced persons, including the transgender community. The IRC so far has distributed rations among 438 families, non-food items to 10, and clothes to 20 families. They have set up two medical camps organized for around 1500 people, and have conducted psychosocial well-being sessions for 22 families. With your contributions, flood affectees will have tents for shelter, ration, and non-food items, hygiene kits for women, and access to pit latrines.

Once distribution has been completed, you will be provided with signed receiving lists and tokens of beneficiaries, along with narrative reports and acknowledgments regarding your contributions. In case of any questions or clarifications, you can reach out to Pallavi on the email mentioned above.

Muhammad Sheraz Aamir

Sheraz has been working with student volunteer body Muaawin (www.muaawin.org) and the Rotaract Club of Bahawalpur, and has previously been in contact with local student activists providing aid to flood affectees. He has also been a part of the Akhuwat Parwaaz Program to build social media awareness in drives for clothes and blankets for affectees. With his efforts, aid has been provided to areas in D.I Khan, KPK, and Balochistan. Through his work with organizations and individuals, ration packages, medicines, and tents have been provided to over 100 families in affected areas. With your contributions, Sheraz aims to work with these organizations and individuals to collect and distribute medicines and hygiene products, provide access to safe drinking water through small filtering units, and winter clothing, and provide support to families in building their small businesses.

Sheraz  and other concerned individuals will provide monitoring reports in the form of receipts, pictures, and videos.

Shehnila Khan

Shehnila is working with local groups and organizations active in providing support to flood-affected areas of Balochistan, Sindh, South Punjab, and specifically in areas of Chitral and Ghizer. So far, Shehnila has worked to provide ration packages, clothes, and kitchen utensils to affectees. With your contributions, affectees will be provided with free medical camps, cash to reconstruct their homes, and school materials for children. She will also be involved in enabling rehabilitation efforts such as providing employment opportunities to affectees and aiding their agrarian initiatives.
